Ms. Amreen Soorani is a highly accomplished and well recognized Senior Research Executive with over 15 years of experience in financial markets. Prior to joining Al Meezan, she was associated with JS Global Capital Limited for 10 years where she spearheaded the transition of the company’s brokerage business model to ‘Research-led’ compared to the customary ‘Sales-Led’ brokerage model in Pakistan, in addition to also being key member of JS Global management committee, spearheading strategic initiatives.
With her expertise being renowned in macroeconomics, strategy, and the banking sector, her track record includes leading and developing high-performing and award-winning research team. Given her extensive understanding of sectors and markets, she was regularly wall-crossed to participate in investment banking transactions, including major IPOs and capital raisings. She also has the distinction of developing and being the designated fund manager for the first ETF to be launched by brokerage houses in Pakistan – the JS Global Banking Sector ETF.
Over the years, she has garnered a number of accolades, being recognized among Best Analyst of Pakistan by CFA Society Pakistan for 3 years in a row, in addition to accolades received on Best Economic Research. Notably, during her tenure as Head of Research, her team also achieved the distinction of winning all research-oriented awards in the 2024 Annual Excellence awards by CFA. She has also won several awards from Asia Money under various research sectors – voted by foreign investors. During her stint, she also has been featured by renowned international platforms, including Bloomberg and the Atlantic Council.
She also brings with her 3 years’ experience of being associated with one of the leading asset management companies in Pakistan, where she was a senior member of the research team and an active member of their Investment Committee.
She is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant and has been an ACCA member since 2013.
